In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought I would share some things that I am thankful for. (And in the spirit of “it’s Thanksgiving”! I’ll keep it brief).
My Mother Does Not Have a Smart Phone – My mother with the capacity to text is a horror that I can barely imagine. Despite the fact that I am in my mid-forties, she seems to believe that I am barely capable of keeping myself alive. If my mother could just drop me a text every time that she thought of something I should be worrying about (like I don’t do that enough on my own), I’d be getting 50 texts a day. Not to mention all of the medical updates I’d get every time she or my dad went to a doctor.

Ok, thankful for the turkey, too
My 20 Year Old Daughter Has Never Been Near a Stripper Pole – Or any other kind of pole as far as I know, if you know what I mean. I must have done something right.
Momus Started Teasing Me Again This Week – Let me tell you, the no teasing zone was a living hell. I almost wept for joy when Momus finally ribbed me about my love for James Taylor. And then the floodgates opened. Now he’s back to teasing me for every move that I make. That was a close one. I will never complain to him about teasing me again.

Amazon.com – Thanks to Amazon, I will not be seeing the inside of a mall in the next month. This may be the greatest gift of all.
Poker – Oh, how I love poker. I am extremely thankful that I live in a state where it is legal, allowing me to run off on a given Saturday evening and spend a few hours waiting for pocket aces. As Momus and I think about our retirement (still a good 20 years away, but it’s never too early!) we know that we will not move to a place where we can not find a good poker tournament.
Finally, I am so thankful for you guys who read all the crazy things that I have to say and take my side on Throwdown Thursday. Ok, I’m thankful for the two of you who take Momus’ side as well. I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving and plenty of time with or without your family as your preferences dictate.
